Exercise Programs
Here is just a sampling of the types of Exercise Programs you’ll find at all PRS Continuing Care Retirement Communities:
- Aqua-Aerobics – our water exercise programs are popular with just about everyone because of the vigorous but gentle workout it provides. It’s also a great way to recover from some types of injuries or surgeries.
- Low-Impact Aerobics – Low-impact aerobics are those movements involving large muscle groups used in continuous rhythmic activity in which at least one foot contacts the floor at all times. It has evolved to decrease the lower leg overuse injuries associated with high-impact classes.
- Better Bones – this class includes gentle weight-bearing exercises that concentrate on posture, balance, flexibility, building core strength, better reaction time, and fall prevention. Residents work at their own pace in a supportive class environment.
- Circuit Training – our circuit training is held in the weight room and done to motivational music. The workout incorporates cardiovascular training with weight training and includes a stretch at the beginning and end of class.
- Yoga - yoga postures are designed to tone, strengthen, and align the body. These postures are performed to make the spine supple and healthy and to promote blood flow to all the organs, glands, and tissues, keeping all the bodily systems healthy.
- Tai Chi – a form of traditional exercise that helps the mind and body work in harmony, the way they were intended to. Work at your own pace while seated in a chair or standing at the ballet bar. This class is also great for improving balance.
- One-on-One Personal Training – for those who need a bit more support and motivation in establishing or maintaining a wellness lifestyle, we offer private training sessions. These sessions are individually tailored to help your reach your personal goals.
