Caregiver Listing Service

The Caregiver Listing Service
Providence Medford Medical Center
Senior Services Department

What is the Caregiver Listing Service?
The Listing Service is a valuable resource for families in the Rogue Valley (mainly Jackson County). The list is published every two months and sent to hospitals, discharge planners, home health agencies, senior centers, and human service agencies. In it, caregivers advertise their skills and what services they are willing to provide. People throughout the Rogue Valley refer to the list when they are in need of an in-home care provider. Often, families call Providence Senior Services and request this list, because it is long established and well known. Families then hire a caregiver that can meet their needs. It is up to the families themselves to supervise the caregivers. Before hiring a caregiver, it is a very good idea to conduct a criminal background check.

How do I get on this list to get a job?
To be included on this list, you must have completed the course material for "The National Caregiver Training," which has become the standard curriculum, or completed the earlier version of that course, "Caring Enough to Prepare." (We encourage all caregivers to complete this coursework, even if they have been caregiving for years.) In addition to this coursework, you must supply two letters of recommendation, and fill out an advertisement. The first time you run your ad, the cost of the ad is included in the class fee. If you choose to run your ad again in a future listing, the cost is $12 per printing.
