Residents and visitors from across the nation delight in southern Oregon's rich cultural offerings. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland is acclaimed for its spellbinding production values and incredible talent. The Oregon Cabaret Theatre, also in Ashland, has a solid reputation for top-flight musicals, revues, and comedies. Resident theatre-goers also enjoy the Jacksonville Theatre, Ashland Community Theatre, and the Southern Oregon University Theatre Arts troupe.

The Craterian Ginger Rogers Theatre presents a season of touring plays, concerts, operas, musicals, and symphonies. Other local musical venues include the Britt Festival, which presents dozens of summer concerts featuring jazz, folk, country, pop, and classical music. The Rogue Valley Symphony delights audiences at several local venues throughout the year, and the Chamber Music Concert plays at the local university. In October, both current and prospective residents enjoy the annual Medford Jazz Jubilee, which features jazz artists from across the country.

Art connoisseurs enjoy having the Schneider Museum of Art here in the Rogue Valley. The Museum's multifaceted permanent collection consists of more than 750 objects, including Renaissance engravings; Native American ceremonial objects; pre-Columbian pieces from Costa Rica; Japanese prints; and several paintings of merit by George Inness, Alexander Calder, and David Alfaro Siqueiros. The Museum is located on the campus of Southern Oregon University, which has been designated as a Center of Excellence in the Fine and Performing Arts. The University also offers an incredible variety of lifelong learning opportunities through Southern Oregon Learning in Retirement (SOLIR), Senior Ventures, and Elderhostel.

The Rogue Valley is also home to more than 33 art galleries, many of which offer classes in art and art appreciation. In addition, there are specialty gourmet shops that offer top-of-the-line culinary equipment and cooking classes, and literally hundreds of boutiques and shops offering antiques, unique gifts, and fine apparel. And because our region has such a mild year-round climate, the Valley is home to 14 wineries. Each year, residents and visitors alike enjoy touring the wineries and tasting recent vintages.

Here at Rogue Valley Manor, we make it easy for residents to take advantage of everything the region has to offer by coordinating outings and providing transportation to many of these events. We also work with prospective residents, helping them coordinate their visit to the Manor with as many of these fun-filled activities as we can.
