PRS Set to Acquire Retirement Community in Madison, Wisconsin

(Medford, Oregon) December 5, 2007 – The nationwide expansion of Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), is now in full swing with its expected acquisition of the Meriter Retirement Community in Madison, Wisconsin. Meriter is announcing on December 5 that the Meriter Health Services Board of Directors has authorized the transfer of ownership of Meriter Retirement Services to PRS. The sale is anticipated to be complete in January 2008, pending federal and state regulatory agency approvals. Located on a full city block in downtown Madison, Meriter Retirement Community is currently undergoing a renovation that will continue throughout the sales process.

This news comes directly on the heels of PRS’s recent announcement that it is expanding its business east with the opening of a new Memphis office. Meriter is the first acquisition to be overseen by the new Memphis-based PRS team, and once the sale is complete, it will be the first PRS retirement community to be located in the Midwest.
