FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Pacific Retirement Services Hires (Medford, Oregon) October 2, 2007 – Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), a not-for-profit developer and manager of retirement communities in four states, announces that it has hired Andrew (Andy) Ferchland as its new Development Manager. Andy was founder of Darkhorse Construction, which he built into a successful 97-employee company in Oregon City, Oregon. He was Senior Project Administrator and Marketing Manager for JCW, Inc., in Portland, Oregon, working on the development of medical, dental, and surgical construction projects. More recently, he worked for Sunterra Resorts in Las Vegas as its Eastern U.S. and Caribbean Senior Construction Project Manager, overseeing resort master plan design and development. Andy received his Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies, Arts & Letters from Portland State University, with a background in architecture, construction management, business administration, civic leadership, and sociology. “Ethics and integrity are very important to me,” says Andy, “and I think it is especially important in design and development. These qualities are what drew me to work for PRS. I was also interested because PRS is a not-for-profit that places people first in management and design.” PRS is best known in Medford for its 668-acre community, Rogue Valley Manor, an accredited, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community that overlooks the valley. What many do not know is that PRS has its own development team that has built retirement communities from scratch. PRS also renovates existing communities and structures for itself and its clients, and it has developed two golf courses, Quail Point Golf Course and the new 18-hole Centennial Golf Club, both adjacent to Rogue Valley Manor. Right now Rogue Valley Manor is undergoing an expansion of its Health Care Center, which will also add more apartments, and the Manor’s Main Entrance, which will add more offices. The Fitness Center has been expanded to three times its size, and the main Lobby and Dining Room will soon have a brand-new look. In addition, PRS has begun work on the foundations of two planned Hilton Hotels, one for short-term stays and another for longer, residential visits. Located off Ellendale Drive, the hotels are being built to serve visiting families of Manor residents, as well as local hospital patients and travelers.
