FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRS AND ANKROM MOISAN WIN DESIGN AWARD FOR MIRABELLA PORTLAND (Medford, Oregon) November 6, 2007 - Pacific Retirement Services, Inc. (PRS), a nationally recognized U.S. developer and manager of retirement communities, announced today that its newest Continuing Care Retirement Community, Mirabella Portland, which is planned for the new urban neighborhood of South Waterfront, has received the highest design honor, a Merit Award, from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Design for Aging Review program. PRS shares the award with Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects of Portland, Oregon, an urban design and planning firm best known for its work in Portland's River and Pearl Districts. The AIA Design for Aging Review is held in partnership with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). As one of only 10 to receive this award, Mirabella Portland will be included in slide presentations about emerging trends and innovative designs for the aging, which were presented by Review jurors at the AAHSA annual meeting in October 2007 and will also be presented at the AIA national convention in May 2008. Beautiful detailed renderings of Mirabella, created by Newland & Company, Inc., will be on view at both conventions and will be published in the companion publication for the Review, Design for Aging Review, 9th Edition, which comes out in fall 2008. “The 30-story architecture of Mirabella Portland is designed to optimize views of Mt. Hood, the Willamette River, and the Portland skyline,” says Brian McLemore, Executive Vice President of Development and Marketing for PRS. “All penthouses and apartments have extra-large windows and balconies, Penthouse View Dining is on the tower’s 24th floor, and a 25th-floor Observation Patio spans the building’s length. Each level of care has its own patio, including a scenic rooftop patio that overlooks the two-block city park across the street from Mirabella and the pedestrian-friendly S.W. Pennoyer Street. Mirabella was designed for urban access and resort-style venues and views, and we are excited that it has been recognized in this way.” Mirabella Portland is expected to open in 2010 in the River Blocks area of South Waterfront, close to shopping, dining, the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, the Portland Aerial Tram, and the Portland Streetcar. A range of senior living options are available, with health care provided in all private suites for peace of mind. Seniors are encouraged to act now to reserve the opportunity to live in this beautiful CCRC. For information, call (503) 245-4742 or (877) 254-9371 or visit www.mirabellaretirement.org.
