I encourage people to call me Science Proves the Benefits of Living in a CCRC! It also found that the social and recreational programs offered at CCRCs provided seniors with many opportunities to meet new friends. Equally important, the study found that CCRC residents were more likely to report that their current health status was better than it had been in the previous two years, as compared to seniors who remained in their own homes. The study was published by the American Seniors Housing Association: Study of Independent Living Residents and the Communities in Which They Reside. It was based on written surveys completed by 1,053 independent living residents and the staff of those 200 communities.
