Saratoga Retirement Community Fall 2005 |
|
Pat and Bob Burney lived in Saratoga 40 years ago. Now that they’re back, they say they couldn’t be happier. “We get to live on this scenic 37-acre campus in the city of Saratoga, which is one of the most beautiful areas in this part of the country,” says Bob. “It’s manicured and landscaped, with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. We don’t have to take care of a lawn or swimming pool anymore (but we still get to enjoy them!), and the restaurant-style dining is wonderful. The only cooking we do is getting the cereal out in the morning!” “We have access to so many amenities without having to drive to them. The Fitness Center, with pool and spa, is across the street, which encourages us to use it frequently. Pat is an avid reader, so she likes to go to the Library. We enjoy the Movie Nights and recitals in Barnes Hall, and especially the organized travel. A group of us are going to San Francisco for the day to tour the city, have lunch, and enjoy the scenery while we ride up and back on a private bus. A group recently went to Monterey Bay Aquarium, and they go to the opera and symphonies regularly.” In parting, Bob says: “The community is wonderful and everyone we talk to is very happy here. We recommend it to all of our friends.” |
