A Community Of Friends

Social interaction and friendships are known to improve the health and well-being of seniors. That is why you’ll find amenities on campus that bring residents together, expand their horizons, and entertain them. But it is also the people who make this community feel like home.

If you move into Saratoga Retirement Community, chances are you’ll be greeted by Pat and Bob Burney. They only recently moved in themselves and are already volunteering on the Welcome Committee.

“We welcome new residents as they move in,” says Bob Burney, “and committee members take turns entertaining them and introducing them to residents. Single newcomers dine at the same table, so they can make new friends and feel at home more quickly. It has made this a very nice community of friends.”

Staff members also add to the warm sense of community at SRC. “What Pat and I think is outstanding at SRC is the personal care we receive from the staff,” explains Bob. “The marketing and administrative teams are very nice people and have excellent follow-through, and the dining staff call us by name. It’s a wonderful atmosphere.”

The SRC campus is designed to encourage social interaction. Groups gather for exciting events in the Barnes Hall auditorium, and various lounges provide chance meetings. Hobbies are pursued in the Woodworking Shop, Activity and Game Room, and the Arts and Crafts Studio, and a beautiful Library offers research and respite. SRC plans special activities and excursions, and ways to volunteer in the community. You can relax while drivers take you there, as well as to church services, shopping, local fine dining, and more.
