In keeping with its resident-centered approach to providing services and care, the Rogue Valley Manor is once again moving forward with an expansion and a remodel that will add a number of new amenities and accommodations to campus.

As Executive Administrator Kevin McLoughlin explains, “The Manor is known as one of the best CCRCs in the nation — and for good reason. We are constantly evaluating our services, care, and amenities to make sure they are state-of-the-art and in keeping with residents’ needs. Over the past year, the Manor’s Administration, working with the Residents’ Council and the Board of Directors, determined that it was time to begin several new projects. One of the most important is the Health Care Center expansion that is now under way.”

This new addition, which will be connected to the south end of the existing Health Care Center, will provide 28 private care suites, 15 Residential Living apartments, new common spaces for residents to enjoy, a new kitchen, and a new Dining Room. The top two floors of the new Center will also offer 26 spacious Independent Living apartments. Site preparation began in May 2007, design plans were finalized in August, and construction is scheduled to start in November.

Fitness CenterAlso in 2007 the Fitness Center and Pool area in the main Manor building were expanded, adding 2,590 square feet. The expansion entailed nearly tripling the size of the existing Fitness Center to add more room for residents using the brand-new Precor cardiovascular equipment and the Keiser pneumatic strength-training systems. The Indoor Pool and Spa have been completely redone, and the results are spectacular. The plants, the beautiful new furniture, and the soft, soothing colors of the wall and floor tiles — all combine to create a true spa environment. A new dry sauna, two steam rooms (one for men and one for women), two massage rooms, two locker rooms, and a reception area complete the spa experience. These two areas were reopened for resident use in August 2007.

In July 2007 a major renovation of the main Manor Lobby and the Front Entry got under way. These two areas are being updated and redecorated to make them more comfortable and inviting. Next up will be the main Manor Dining Room, which will receive a complete makeover, with new furnishings, fixtures, and fine appointments throughout.

“We have such a wonderful group of residents at the Manor,” says Kevin. “It’s been a pleasure working with them, the Board, the architects, and the PRS Development Team on these projects. Updating the campus and thereby enhancing the quality of life for residents is something we’re very proud to be doing.”
