More than 30 employees of Pacific Retirement Services gathered to improve the landscaping and play areas around the property of the Family Nurturing Center
. As part of United Way’s national “Day of Caring,” PRS employees cleaned the grounds with power washers on Friday, May 23, 2014, and on Friday, May 30 they:
- Planted flowers
- Spread gravel and mulch
- Painted fencing and wooden playground equipment
- Weeded and trimmed the landscaping
- Added an irrigation and drip system
The PRS Outreach Committee wanted to help a not-for-profit neighbor this year, so they chose the Family Nurturing Center. The mission of the Family Nurturing Center is to prevent the abuse and neglect of children, and we were excited to make its exterior as warm and inviting as the care provided inside. In fall 2014, PRS will move into its new offices at One West Main in downtown Medford, just a few blocks from the Center.
