Overview

The City of Napa is a charming place with a friendly, small-town atmosphere. Napa’s historic downtown has been completely revitalized, and today, acclaimed restaurants are around every corner, and specialty boutiques offer one-of-a-kind fashion and gifts. Cultural and recreational offerings abound. There’s the Napa Valley Opera House, the Napa Valley Film Festival, the Mondavi Winery Concert Series, and the Festival del Sole to enjoy.

Of course, Napa Valley is famous for its wines, and wine touring is a very popular pastime. And, because no one wants to worry about driving while out wine tasting, the valley has a number of vendors that provide transportation: Beau Wine Tours & Limousine Service, California Wine Tours, and the Napa Valley Wine Train, to name a few.

The Napa Farmers Market is held two days a week from May to the end of October, and the Napa Chefs’ Market is held on Thursdays from late May to July.  The Oxbow Public Market offers a variety of artisan-made foods; fresh produce, meat, and fish; wine and cheese; and retail shops. The famous Napa General Store offers a cornucopia of food, gifts, novelties, furnishings, and more, and the Napa Premium Outlet Mall has great deals on Coach, Cole Haan, Ann Taylor, and other popular retailers.

Golf is a popular pastime, and the Napa Valley offers eight beautiful courses to play. Hot-air ballooning is also popular throughout the valley; you can book a trip with one of the nine local air-adventure companies in the area.
