In addition to Independent Living accommodations for residents who don’t need assistance of any type, Capitol Lakes’ continuum of care offers an array of facilities, services, and programs that support residents’ health care needs as they change over time.
Wellness Program
Capitol Lakes retirement community offers an array of facilities, services, and programs that support all aspects of a wellness lifestyle. The Aquatic and Wellness Center is equipped with treadmills and stationary bicycles, strength-training equipment specially designed for seniors, and an exercise area where you can take low-impact aerobics, yoga, stretch and tone, and other classes. You can also swim laps or take aqua-fitness classes in our two Indoor Pools. You may also attend a variety of educational seminars on nutrition, stress management, overall wellness, and other health-related issues. At Capitol Lakes you’ll find everything you need to keep yourself feeling fit and fabulous!
Assisted Living
Assisted Living at Capitol Lakes retirement community is designed to help residents maintain independence. Caregivers are available to help residents with activities such as dressing, bathing, grooming, eating, medication management, and mobility. Services include three meals a day, housekeeping, local transportation, flat-linen laundry service, health and wellness programs, medication supervision, and social and recreational activities. Capitol Lakes’ Assisted Living program offers additional services for residents requiring higher levels of care (for an additional fee). All services are subject to licensing and regulatory requirements. At Capitol Lakes, Assisted Living accommodations and services are offered in a section of campus called the Terraces.
Special Care for Memory Support
Special Care is designed to accommodate the needs of residents with Alzheimer's and other memory impairing conditions. All programs offered are tailored to the changing needs of individual residents, and they promote social participation, mobility, activity, and personal dignity. At Capitol Lakes retirement community, Special Care accommodations and services are offered in a section of campus called the Terraces.
Health Care Center
Our on-site Health Care Center offers compassionate skilled nursing care in a warm, comfortable environment. Guided by physician's orders, the Center’s staff develops a plan of care tailored to individual needs, and regularly schedules conferences with family members to ensure that the resident's physical, spiritual, and emotional needs are addressed. Residents of the Health Care Center are provided with accommodations, three meals a day, a full activities program and skilled nursing care as needed. Residents also have access to specialized services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory services, and use of other health-related equipment. Our Health Care Center is Medicare Certified.
When you are covered by Capitol Lakes’ Continuing Care agreement, and require temporary care in the Health Care Center, there is no additional monthly fee for this care. The only additional charges for temporary stays in the Health Care Center are for extra meals, medical supplies, doctor's fees, and pharmaceuticals. If permanent nursing care is needed, CCRC residents are provided a second benefit: a special discounted fee that is below current market rates. The discounted fee reflects additional savings for residents.
Having several levels of care available on campus is an incredible benefit. It provides you with the security of knowing that if you need Assisted Living, special care, or skilled nursing care at some point in the future, you won’t have to move to another community. Couples find this aspect of CCRC living especially important. If one spouse needs the services provided in another part of campus, the other can easily visit any time of day. This means couples can regularly spend time together socializing, dining, or engaging in activities. And, they know that their loved ones are receiving the services they need to thrive and maintain as much independence as possible.
