Resident Gallery Art

Capitol Lakes residents who have art work they would like displayed in the Residents Gallery should call
575-3154. The art work can be your own, a family member's, or art that you have collected. It does not need to professional. Help will be given with hanging and take down of the art.

Resident Speaker Series

The Program Committee is looking at developing a summer speaker series which would feature our residents, who would share an interesting story about a career highlight, a World War II story, a hobby, or an unusual experience that might be of interest to others. If you have a story to tell, please contact Mary Hanson at 283-2003.

World Religions Discussion

On Saturday, May 11th, at 10:45 AM in the Heights Chapel, Brian McCarthy will lead a discussion titled "World Religions: Their Amazing Durability". If people are interested, this discussion could be the first of five or six sessions on the theme. What do we know of the Origins and Founders of these religions? Stop by and join the discussion.

Health Tips from the Health Services Committee

Hiccups are usually minor and short-lived, if a little embarrassing and inconvenient. But, hiccups are no laughing matter and can be associated with an underlying medical condition. So if they continue and are unremitting, you should check with your doctor. (from doctors at Harvard Medical School)

Adventure Trips

All trips depart from the Henry St. Circle entrance. Sign up at the MainGate desk starting the Friday before the departure date, unless otherwise indicated.

May 14, 10 AM - Spring in the Arboretum Come & see the beautiful spring flowers in the Arboretum. The lilacs should be at their peak! We'll stop for lunch at the Laurel on Monroe St. Sign up now.

May 17, 4:30 PM - Friday Night Fish Fry - Fitzgerald's, Middleton Now that the weather is warming up, we're going to add Friday Night Fish Fries to our van schedule on the third Friday of the month. We'll choose a different stop every time. Your suggestions are welcome! Sign up now.

Calling All Flower Lovers!

Our groundskeeper, Christina, welcomes your help with the spring planting of flowerpots. Interested residents can participate by coming to the MainGate Plaza Level Garage on Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 at 9 AM, where we'll be planting flowers, rain or shine. If this time is not convenient, please leave your name & phone number at the front desk and Christina will contact you directly to arrange a more convenient time.
