The Residents' Favorite Music program on Wednesday 17th will be something special. Howard Karp will share memories of his time at the Juilliard with the noted pianist Van Cliburn, where they studied under the same teacher; and will also allow us to hear him playing some of his favorite short pieces.
Van Cliburn passed away February 27th at his home in Texas, at the age of 78.
The Morgan family send their gratitude to all residents who came for Jean Morgan's farewell gathering on April 2. They wrote: "Thank you to any staff at Capitol Lakes who helped to make it happen. It was a great opportunity for Jean to be able to hear nice things spoken about her, and for her to have a chance to say goodbye."

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group
The Alzheimer's Association believes that "No one should face Alzheimer's alone." We think so too. Capitol Lakes staff members Natasha Peterson, Guta Cvetkovic, and Mary Hanson have recently completed training through the Alzheimer's Association to become facilitators for an Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group which will be held at Capitol Lakes. We will also have quarterly visits by Alzheimer's Association staff. This group is intended to help those who are caregivers for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or other forms of dementia. If you are providing care and support for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia, even if the person does not live with you, you are welcome to join us. Please RSVP to Natasha Peterson at 283-2088 by Monday, April 15. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, April 16, at 12 noon in the Premier Room. Feel free to bring your lunch with you. A maximum of 15 participants is planned. We will meet the third Tuesday of every month from 12-1 PM, and will be open to the public.
