History, Mission, & Values

Capitol Lakes is fully accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC), an independent accrediting body. Founded in 1985, the CCAC is the nation’s only accrediting body for Continuing Care Retirement Communities and other retirement communities that meet or exceed its standards of excellence in three critical areas: governance and administration; financial resources and disclosure; and resident life, health, and wellness.

Capitol Lakes has been serving seniors since 1975. It was built by Methodist Retirement Services, which later became Meriter Retirement Services, a division of Meriter Health Services. Pacific Retirement Services acquired Capitol Lakes from Meriter Health Services in January 2008, and since that time has been overseeing the renovation and remodeling of Apartments and community spaces.

In March 2009, Capitol Lakes received a Silver Award in the Restoration/Renovation category of the Projects of Distinction 2008, an awards program presented by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin, Inc.

Mission Statement:
Capitol Lakes is a vibrant Continuing Care Retirement Community committed to the enrichment of residents’ lives.
