The residents at Holladay Park Plaza are very active lifelong learners. They understand how important it is to keep challenging the mind and expanding one's horizons throughout life.

In order to assist you in expanding your horizons and pursuing your interests, we've created this web page, linking you to a wealth of educational and informational resources.

Portland State University

PSU Senior Adult Learning Center (SALC)
Adults aged 65 or older, who are not seeking college credits, can attend classes at Portland State University, on a space-available basis with no tuition. Seniors are able to audit university classes while younger students benefit from experiences and insights of the older students. Seniors are also entitled to get a library card for use of PSU's library, use the computer labs and get an e-mail account, use the PSU gym, get discounted tickets for any of PSU's athletic events, and get discounts on campus films offered at the Fifth Avenue Cinema.

The Retired Associates of PSU (RAPSU)
This membership organization for people aged 50 and older meets twice a month on the campus of PSU for programs of intellectual stimulation and fellowship. The RAPSU program takes advantage of the many resources offered at PSU and the cultural institutions located nearby. A newsletter announces monthly programs and selected events on and off campus. Programs include speakers or performers from PSU, the Portland entertainment community, or other sources.Lifelong Learning

Elderhostel
A not-for-profit organization, Elderhostel is the nation's first and the world's largest educational and travel organization for adults 55 and over. From New Hampshire to New Zealand, South Africa to South Dakota, Elderhostel offers you a world of educational opportunities - at exceptional values.

OASIS
Serving more than 10,000 members in the Portland area, OASIS offers a variety of challenging programs to enrich the mind, renew past interests, and develop new talents. Programs range from arts and humanities to consumer interest, fitness and health. Membership is free and open to anyone 50 or older. Members receive a catalog of opportunities three times a year.

Oregon Health Sciences University
OHSU's mission of healing, teaching and discovery extends to their series of public lectures and seminars, which offer something for everyone. Attend monthly, one-hour informal public discussions on a variety of health subjects, including the latest research findings presented in lay terms, women's health care issues, and vision correction surgery.

University of Portland
Interested in taking a single course just for fun or continuing education? The University of Portland offers interesting classes in a wide variety of subjects, all taught by accomplished professors.
