By giving to the URC Foundation, you can add your own personal touch to the quality of life at URC, because all funds contributed to the Foundation go directly into programs and services that benefit URC residents.

Your contributions can go towards supporting a variety of programs, such as providing assistance for residents who have outlived their financial resources or helping to improve the quality of life for residents in the Health Care Center. Or, you may wish to support a scholarship program that enables URC employees to pursue their work-related educational goals at UC Davis. The possibilities for giving are endless. 

So Many Ways to Give

Charitable giving is a uniquely personal statement. It can be your way of showing what you consider to be important in the world. When you contribute to the URC Foundation, you decide what type of gift to give, how you'd like your gift to be used, and the time frame in which you give.

Gifts may be made in the form of cash, stocks, bonds, or real estate. You can include a gift to the Foundation in your will or through a living trust. You can also donate pension plans, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), or other retirement assets. Life insurance policies that are no longer needed can be given as well.

Your contributed assets can be designated for specific purposes or donated to a general fund where they are used to benefit the community at large. You may choose to make a direct gift, which the URC Foundation can immediately benefit from, or you may choose to make a planned gift, which benefits the Foundation at a later date. Gifts of this type include bequests, charitable remainder unitrusts, and charitable gift annuities.

• Charitable gift annuities are among the most popular ways of giving because they provide benefits to both the donor and the recipient. As an annuitant, you can receive a guaranteed lifetime income and you may avoid a capital gains tax.

• Charitable remainder unitrusts allow you to provide variable lifetime payments for yourself or other living beneficiaries. These irrevocable trusts may provide you with reduced estate taxes and a bypass of capital gains tax.

• By donating appreciated securities, you may be entitled to a tax deduction for the current value of the stock. This puts unrealized "paper profits" to work for you.
