Wellness as a Way of Life

Wellness as a Way of Life

At Cascade Manor wellness of mind, body, and spirit is a way of life. Every aspect of our community is focused on enhancing resident health and helping each person stay vital, physically active, cognitively healthy, and happy as they age.

Our comprehensive Wellness Program is designed around the principle of successful aging as described by the MacArthur Foundation research. The study found that as much as 70% of physical aging is related to lifestyle choices that include eating a healthy diet, getting enough physical exercise, and keeping one's mind active and engaged.

At Cascade Manor, wellness means supporting residents in all of these aspects. For example, our Dining options offer food that is healthy, delicious, fresh, and full of variety—so eating right is easy.

Our Aquatic Program features a heated Indoor Pool and Spa. Residents can enjoy swimming laps, taking aqua-aerobics classes, or just relaxing in the warm, bubbling Spa. We also have a beautiful Fitness Center with exercise equipment specially designed for seniors, and an exercise studio where Tai Chi, better bones, stretch and flexibility, and balance classes are offered. Our on-staff Certified Personal Trainers can tailor an exercise program just for you. Visit our online Fitness Center Photo Gallery to see a sample of our exercise amenities.

Cascade Manor further supports resident wellness by offering many programs, activities, and seminars that provide opportunities for social engagement, personal enrichment, lifelong learning, and so much more.

Staying Social

Staying Social

Are your friends and relatives scattered everywhere? Are they not staying in touch as often as you'd like them to? More and more adults are turning to social networking sites like Facebook in order to keep regular contact with their loved ones. In fact, people age 55 and older are the fastest growing group of Facebook users. Why? Because it's free and so many of the people they know are already on there, chatting and sharing photos about their daily lives.

Social networking sites can also be a good way to find new friends. Many people locate others with similar interests and hobbies through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and similar sites. Online social networking is the modern-day version of "pen pals."

Cascade Manor has Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages that anyone is welcome to visit. If you'd like to see what everyday life is like here—or meet some of your future neighbors and friends—please feel free to take a peek.
